Prep Hoops: Parker, Elkton girls slow down Cruisers

ELKTON — The deeper the Skyline League basketball race gets, the more apparent it becomes that the Elkton girls basketball team won’t be going away. The Elks won for the eighth time in nine games on Saturday night, 40-27 against Powers, holding the Cruisers to eight points in the second half to remain a game behind first-place Yoncalla. Junior guard Amy Parker scored a game-high 11 points for the Elks, who improved to 9-10 overall and 7-1 in league.
