LA GRANDE — Senior Jessa Perkinson will lead the 10th-ranked Southern Oregon University women's cross country team into the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on Saturday at Lane Farms.

Perkinson, a graduate of Roseburg High School, won a 5,000-meter race at William Jessup's Warrior Invite at Springview Park in Rocklin, California, Oct. 21. She was timed in 17:00.0.

The Raiders of Ashland finished fourth in the team standings with 81 points. College of Idaho (56) won the meet.

Perkinson has been selected the NAIA Women's Runner of the Week twice this season. The nine-time NAIA All-American in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track is looking to win her first CCC cross country title in Saturday's 6K.
