COOS BAY — Jordan Stotler and Dajanay Powell combined for 52 points and 24 rebounds as top-ranked Umpqua flexed its skills in a 99-68 victory over Southwestern Oregon on Wednesday in a Northwest Athletic Conference Southern Region women’s basketball game at SWOCC’s Prosper Hall.

Stotler delivered a triple-double for the Riverhawks (24-0, 11-0 Southern), one of two teams in the NWAC to have clinched a playoff berth. A Portland State-commit, Stotler finished with 27 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocked shots, further extending her conference record for career blocks.

Stotler missed a quadruple-double by two assists, finishing with eight of UCC’s 33 assists.

Powell added 25 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench for UCC. Both Stotler and Powell were all-Southern Region selections in 2017, with Stotler being the most valuable player of the league.

Bria Thames added 22 points and Taylor Stricklin had 12 points for UCC.

Umpqua started slowly against the Lakers (5-17, 2-9), trailing 26-22 after the first quarter. The Riverhawks turned things around in the second quarter to take a 49-43 lead, then ran away with the victory in the second half.

Jessica Matheson led the Lakers with 27 points and Madison Bell chipped in 10.

Umpqua outshot the Lakers 56.8 percent to 39.1 percent and outrebounded the hosts 41-23, getting 18 second-chance points.

UCC also scored 22 points off of turnovers.

The Riverhawks will host Portland at 2 p.m. Saturday.
