LA GRANDE — Jeff Davis of Drain was inducted into the Eastern Oregon University Athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Oct. 19, 2018, at EOU.

Davis — a former North Douglas High School teacher who currently coaches the Warriors' girls basketball and baseball teams — played baseball for the Mountaineers in 1979 and 1980. He was an all-conference pitcher those seasons, and received honorable mention All-America as a senior in 1980. Davis was fifth in the nation in earned run average in '80 and held six school pitching records when he graduated.

Davis, a native of Wren, Ohio, served as an assistant baseball coach at EOU in 1981-82. He played baseball and basketball at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely, Colorado, for two years before transferring to Eastern Oregon.

Davis taught and coached at Spray High in Oregon from 1982-88 before getting hired by the North Douglas School District. He retired from teaching in 2015 after 28 years at N.D.
