WINCHESTER — Camas Valley graduate Jacob Payne will join the Umpqua Community College obstacle course racing team next fall.

"Jacob is an outstanding athlete who is new to obstacle course racing," OCR coach Andrea Bowden said. "He's tough, strong, fast and competitive, which will serve him very well as he grow in our sport."

Payne competed in track and field for Camas Valley as a senior. He was an all-state football player for the Hornets on both offense and defense. Payne has also been selected to play in the Aug. 4 Oregon East-West Shrine All-Star Football game in Baker City.
