PORTLAND — Umpqua Community College’s cross country teams competed in the collegiate races at Saturday’s Warner Pacific XC Classic at Lent’s Park.

The men’s team finished 11th with 290 points and were led by Nakai Sinohui in 28:09.80. Sinohui finished 69th overall.

Umpqua’s Derek O’Connor was 72nd in 28:20.10 and Riley Westbrooks was 83rd in 29:28.90. Westbrooks recently joined the cross country team, he had been competing the Riverhawks’ obstacle course racing team.

In the women’s 5,000-meter race Laura Ekada and Savannah Slay were 53rd and 54th in 22:27.60 and 22:34.80, respectively.

The Riverhawks finished ninth. Umpqua’s next competition will be the UCC time trial at 10 a.m. Oct. 27.
