MONMOUTH — Umpqua Community College cross country runners competed in the Ash Creek Festival Invitational last Friday.

The top finisher for the UCC women was freshman Jasmine Lake, who placed 66th in 17 minutes, 47.36 seconds for 4,000 meters. Leading the UCC men was freshman Paesen Timm, who finished 71st in 21:19.25 over 6,000.

Four other runners from Douglas County high schools participated. Walla Walla's Josiah Buster, a Roseburg High graduate, finished 64th (20:51.65); Isabell Webber of Northwest Christian University, from Roseburg, was 48th (17:07.33); NCU's Aneykah McCall, who prepped at South Umpqua, finished 70th (17:57.80); and NCU's Hannah Hull, an Umpqua Valley Christian grad, finished 102nd (21:29,66).
