WINCHESTER — Umpqua Community College libero Kyrie Keffer has been selected the Northwest Athletic Conference Southern Region Defensive Player of the Week for the first week of the volleyball season.

Keffer, a 5-foot-5 sophomore from Henley High School in Klamath Falls, made 37 digs in four matches at the NWAC Showcase tournament last Saturday. UCC coach Lacy Pinard called Keffer a “defensive beast and the team was able to rally around her ability to clean up the court.”

Keffer received multiple defensive player of the week honors in as a freshman in 2017.
