SPRINGFIELD — The Umpqua Community College volleyball team won three of four best-of-3 matches on Saturday at the NWAC Showcase season-opening tournament at Bob Keefer Center.

The Riverhawks won 25-11, 25-19 over Everett; defeated Green River 25-13, 25-14; beat Blue Mountain 17-25, 25-18, 16-13; and lost 25-18, 25-23 to Treasure Valley.

Madison Becker had 49 assists and 22 digs on the day. Morgyn Asplund chipped in 20 assists, Kyrie Keffer made 37 digs, Amiyah Shakoor had 19 kills and Bailey Crawford-Caroll contributed 16 kills.

“I was very pleased with our effort today,” UCC coach Lacy Pinard said. “We came out with high intensity and ready to compete.”

UCC meets Tacoma and Big Bend on Sunday to conclude the tourney.
