Umpqua Community College defeated Centralia 84-57 in Saturday’s women’s basketball game in the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic on Saturday in Longview, Washington.

Grace Campbell led the second-ranked Riverhawks (11-2) in scoring with 19 points. Darian Mitchell had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Umpqua had five players score in double digits. Taylor Stricklin had 18 points, Cielo Gonzalez had 15 and Brooklyn Gilbert scored 10.

Piper Cai finished with a game-high 24 points for Centralia (6-8). Lindsey Nurmi contributed 15 points.

The Riverhawks open Southern Region play on Jan. 5, traveling to Gresham to meet Mt. Hood.
