Taylor Stricklin scored 32 points in Umpqua Community College’s 96-51 win over Highline College on Friday in the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic in Longview, Washington.

Stricklin had five 3-pointers in the victory as well as five assists and four steals.

The second-ranked Riverhawks (10-2) got an early lead, going up 27-5 after the first quarter and leading 44-22 at intermission.

But even with a 22-point lead UCC did not back off Highline (3-6). Umpqua’s highest scoring quarter came in the third when it put up 29 points.

Cielo Gonzalez scored 19 points and Grace Campbell added 13 for UCC. Darian Mitchell and Sienna Riggle each had 10 rebounds in the game.

Highline was led by Jazmina Lafitaga with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
