The Umpqua Valley Classic wrestling tournament, held Saturday at Sutherlin High School, attracted over 10 club teams from around the state.

Divisions included 6U Peewee, 8U Bantam, 9U Girls Intermediate, 10U Intermediate, 12U Novice, 12U Girls Novice, 14U Schoolboy and 16U Cadet.

The Roseburg Mat Club had the most entrants with 63, followed by Umpqua Wrestling Club with 31, Myrtle Point Mat Club with 25 and Sutherlin Mat Club with 24.

Winning titles for the Roseburg Mat Club were Johnny Cornell (16U Cadet, 165 pounds); Noah Singleton (16U Cadet, 121-131), Carson Dunn (16U Cadet, 105-110); Gage Singleton (14U Schoolboy, 77-83); Mason Young (10U Intermediate, 67-69); Payson Burke (10U Intermediate, 65-68); Liam Bracken (10U Intermediate, 60-63); Mason Wells (8U Bantam, 68-70); Samuel Barton (10U Intermediate, 59-61); Bles Scanlan (8U Bantam, 56-58); Thatcher Johnson (8U Bantam, 42-44); Eli Spears (8U Bantam, 33-37); Isaac Turbell (6U Peewee, 46-47); Urijah Mandera (6U Peewee, 44-46); Sawyer Allred (6U Peewee, 41-44) and Alexander Hall (6U Peewee, 29-34).

Finishing first for the Douglas Mat Club were Ryder Sawyer (12U Novice, 79-85) and Colton Koegler (6U Peewee, 48-52).

Sutherlin’s winners were Hailey Holgate (12U Girls Novice, 98-102), Natalia Slater (12U Girls Novice, 60-64), Ty Terry (12U Novice, 105-109), Aaron Lepre (10U Intermediate, 76-81), Cash Good (10U Intermediate, 57-59) and Graesyn Anderson (6U Peewee, 36-39).

Taking first for the South Umpqua Mat Organization were Josiah Sinohui (14U Schoolboy, 136-139), Isabel Chapman (12U Girls Novice, 82-84), Mack Mitchell (10U Intermediate, 102-111) and Taylea Wilson (6U Peewee, 40-42).

Placing first for UWC were Emma Hickman (12U Girls Novice, 106-115), Skyler Schneider (12U Novice, 75-77), Elijah Hatfield (12U Novice, 71-75), Drew Dawson (12U Novice, 68-69), Carter Dawson (12U Novice, 59-67), Montana Holcomb (9U Girls Intermediate, 57-59), Lyric Florence (8U Bantam, 75-77), Easton Zerbach (8U Bantam, 54) and Laine Sutch (8U Bantam, 38-40).
