The Roseburg Renegades swept North Medford in Friday’s doubleheader at Bill Gray Stadium at Legion Field.

Roseburg (24-6) won their first game 10-0 in five innings and defeated North Medford 9-5 in the second game of the day.

In the opener, the Renegades scored two runs in the second quarter, but managed to score four runs in both the third and fifth quarter to overpower the Stallions.

Roseburg pitcher Caden Smith allowed zero runs on two hits as he pitched the entire game. He struck out three and walked none.

Sebastian Watson went 3-for-3 from the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. Watson and Dawson Gillespie each hit a double in the game.

Jericho Paul was 2-for-4 and Carson Dunn batted 2-for-2.

Roseburg committed no errors.

In the second game of the day, the Renegades had a 4-0 lead going into the fifth inning.

North Medford then scored a run at the top of the fifth, but Roseburg came back with three runs of their own at the bottom of the inning.

North Medford would score four more runs, spread evenly over the final two innings, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the lead the Renegades had built up.

Dominic Tatone was the winning pitcher for Roseburg. He pitched five innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out one. Kohl Wolford and Nathan Wayman helped close out the game.

Gillespie batted 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Renegades at the plate.

The Renegades will host Oregon City at noon Sunday in a doubleheader before a season-ending tournament at Grants Pass beginning Thursday. North Medford and Klamath Falls will join Roseburg and G.P. in the four-team field.
