Austin Luzier hit an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh to give Roseburg’s Dr. Randol’s a 9-8 win over Columbia Gorge, Friday at Clyde Allen Field in North Bend.

The Crowns were in a must-win situation at the single-A American Legion baseball state tournament and will play in the semifinals Saturday.

Luzier’s double scored Dawson Tolliver for the winning run.

Luzier finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and Donovan Hargraves was 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs.

“It was a great game,” Crowns coach Noah Miller said.

Columbia Gorge, which defeated Roseburg’s Pepsi Bottlecaps in extra innings Thursday, will be headed home. It was the second loss of the tournament for the Hustlers.

Dr. Randol’s will play Hillsboro at 1 p.m. Saturday.

“I’m expecting a good game,” Miller said. “Their 1 through 5 guys can hit the ball very well and they field the ball well, obviously. Hopefully, we’ll be ready to play.”

North Coos and North Jackson will face off at 4 p.m.
