LOWELL — The Eagles' boys basketball season got off to a rocky start as Lowell dealt visiting Yoncalla a 70-40 nonleague loss.

Ted Wickman scored 12 points and Michael Stevens added 11 for Yoncalla, but their offense was not enough. Yoncalla could only muster 13 second half points and the Red Devils pulled away  to pick up the victory. Cole Staggs scored a game-high 19 points for Lowell.

YONCALLA (40) — Ted Wickman 12, Stevens 11, Marquez 6, Bragg 4, Tibbatts 4, Best 2, Simons 1. Totals 14 9-17 40.

LOWELL (70) — Cole Staggs 19, Sinnett 17, Miles 11, Christiansen 9, Wendt 8, Pickett 4, Gillmore 2. Totals 30 3-7 70.



3-Point Field Goals — Yoncalla 3 (Wickman 2, Tibbatts 1), Lowell 7 (Sinnett 4, Miles 2, Christiansen 1). Fouls — Yoncalla 8, Lowell 14.
