Oregon wildlife troopers probe deer poaching case

BEND, Ore. — Oregon State Police wildlife officers are seeking information on those responsible for shooting and wasting four deer in the Kotzman Basin area southeast of Bend in central Oregon. A hunters group is offering a maximum $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Senior Trooper Andrew Menlow says two people filming winter range deer reported the dead animals last Saturday. Three of the four deer had their heads removed. Troopers believe they were shot in the late afternoon of Friday, Nov. 16. …
