Friends of the Umpqua hike this Saturday

The Friends of the Umpqua Hiking Club will hike the North Umpqua Trail, from Wright Creek to Susan Creek day use area, this Saturday, Jan. 26.

The hike will be roughly eight miles, with many ups and downs and several steep sections.

This trail has recently been refurbished after the North Umpqua Complex Fires in 2017.

Those interested in carpooling should come prepared to share gas expenses. The group leaves the Douglas County Courthouse parking lot, behind the Roseburg Public Library, promptly at 8 a.m.

Organizers suggest dressing for the weather, bringing lunch and water and wearing well-fitting boots.

Information: Lane Harris, 541-643-9278.
