Friends of the Umpqua Hiking Club will take on an 8-mile section of the North Umpqua Trail on Saturday.

The club will hike from Wright Creek to Susan Creek day use area in the morning. The North Umpqua Complex Fire swept through the area in 2017 and the area is in recovery.

It will be an end-to-end hike with several steep sections.

Carpool meets at 8 a.m. from the Douglas County Courthoue parking lot. Dress for the weather bring lunch and well-fitting boots.
