BANDON — Of all places to get in a prep baseball game on Tuesday, Bandon may have been the least expected, but Riddle made the trip and the Irish were able to play the full seven in a 9-2 nonleague loss to the host school.

"We got over there and it was pretty nice, windy of course, but pretty nice," RHS coach Jim Titus said. "We got it in, that's the biggest take away right there."

The Irish (0-1 overall) struggled at the plate and had issues giving up free bases on the mound. Four pitchers combined on seven walks and two hit batters.

"Nine free passes, those always come back to haunt you," Titus said. "Offensively, we have to do a better job offensively, and defensively, we did a few good things and had a few miscues that cost us."

Drake Borschowa went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the loss. Bandon catcher Matt Yarber doubled and had an RBI, while Braydon Freitag went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Trace Fugate was 2-for-4.

Riddle plays six straight at home beginning Thursday when the Irish host Coquille.
