OAKLAND — The sixth-ranked Oakland boys basketball team dominated Crow from the outset, finishing with a 73-16 Mountain View Conference victory Tuesday night at the Nut House.

The Oakers (22-3, 13-1 MVC) share the conference crown with No. 7 Monroe (20-5, 13-1). Those two teams will meet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the conference tournament at Lane Community College in Eugene.

Cameron Benzel posted a double-double for Oakland with 21 points, 14 rebounds and five steals. Andrew Harrington added 13 points, Nic Freeman chipped in 11 points, and Sean Winn contributed 10 points, five assists and five steals.

Eli Matthews scored nine points for the Cougars (1-22, 0-14), who trailed 42-12 at halftime.

"We played solid defense and were patient on offense," said Oakland coach Jeff Clark. "I'm very proud of them (for being co-champions). I feel like we're getting better every game."
