SWEET HOME — Sophomore Mason Gill had a double-double as Sutherlin opened Sky-Em League boys basketball play with a 51-39 victory over Sweet Home on Friday night.

Gill had a team-high 17 points and 11 rebounds for Sutherlin (9-6, 1-0). Albert Christianson grabbed eight rebounds and had 16 points, and Brandon Carr had eight rebounds and five assists.

Colton Smith led Sweet Home (5-9, 0-1) with 15 points. 

Sutherlin's next game will be at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday against Elmira.
