SUTHERLIN — Sophomore Mason Gill posted a double-double and Sutherlin kept its Sky-Em League boys basketball championship hopes alive with a 53-32 romp over Junction City on Tuesday.

Gill had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (16-7, 8-1 Sky-Em), who are tied with Sisters (15-8, 8-1) for the league lead. Sutherlin plays at Sisters on Friday to wrap up the league season.

Riley Westbrooks had 13 points, while Trevor Daniels had seven assists and Payton Hope grabbed 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Sutherlin blew open the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring J.C. by 14 in the final eight minutes.

Matthew Penn scored 14 for the Tigers (12-11, 3-6).
