CORVALLIS — Roseburg High opened its boys lacrosse season Tuesday night with a solid 16-5 victory over Corvallis at Spartan Stadium.

Tanner Reber and Scott Harvey both had five goals for the Indians (1-0), while Case Wells scored three goals and Ethan Stoner, Austin McCurdy and Logan McGrew each tallied a goal.

"The kids played very well," RHS coach Dave Heverly said. "We have a few kinks to work out, but we can do that. I was super pleased with the effort."

Roseburg won 20 of 25 face-offs and outshot Corvallis 55-17. Reber, Bryson Diaz, Wells and Stoner were responsible for the face-off advantage.

The Tribe (1-0) plays at Wilsonville on Saturday.
