REDMOND — Roseburg finished first in its Class 6A pool at the Oregon Classic wrestling tournament on Friday at the First Interstate Bank Fair & Expo Center.

The top-ranked Indians defeated Clackamas, 62-13; downed Tualatin, 51-15; whipped No. 10 Cleveland, 64-15; and pounded West Albany, 60-8.

In 3A, Glide finished second in its pool. The No. 2 Wildcats defeated Irrigon, 39-30; got past No. 6 Dayton, 39-33; and lost to Rainier, 41-40.

The tournament continues today. The Oregon Classic is considered the state dual-meet championships.
