KEIZER — Roseburg opened its baseball season with an 11-0 nonleague shutout of McNary on Monday.

The Indians were up by 11 after five innings and the contest was stopped due to the 10-run rule.

Zack Mandera picked up the pitching decision for the Tribe, allowing one hit over five innings. The junior right-hander struck out three, walked two and hit two batters.

Roseburg scored four unearned runs in the first inning. Doran Gillespie lined a two-run double in the second.

The Indians added five more runs in the fifth with Cody Johnson, Jonathon Stone, Garrett Russell, Caden Johnson and Brody Black all contributing hits.

Roseburg is scheduled to host Westview of Beaverton at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bill Gray Stadium at Legion Field, weather permitting.
