OAKLAND — The Oakland boys basketball team got scoring contributions from 11 players in its 72-33 nonleague victory over Elkton on Tuesday at the Nut House.

Colton Brownson led the Oakers (3-0) with 17 points, followed by Triston Mask with 14 and Austin Madden with 11. Noah Strempel had a strong floor game with eight points, 10 assists, five rebounds and five steals. Zach Cummings grabbed eight rebounds.

"We were flat in the second quarter and lost our defensive intensity, but I was pleased with how we came out in the third quarter," said Oakland coach Jeff Clark. "We got our transition game going and put the game away."

Mason Cox scored 13 points for the Elks (1-3), who travel to Molalla Friday to meet Country Christian in the Cougar Classic.

Oakland visits Glide (3-0) Friday.
