MYRTLE POINT — Camas Valley fell 63-56 to Myrtle Point in overtime in Wednesday's nonleague boys basketball game.

Myrtle Point (1-3) led 29-18 at halftime, but the Hornets (1-1) staged a comeback in the second half to tie the game at 54 by the end of regulation.

"Critical mistakes led to turnovers," Camas Valley coach Chris Sexton said. "Nerves got to us."

It was the second game of the year for the Hornets, who were led in scoring by Derek O'Connor with 20 points.

Jared Hunt was just shy of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets. Devan Ewing also put up double digits with 11 points.

Myrtle Point was led in scoring by John Newton with 18 points and Jalen Robbins with 16.

Camas Valley is scheduled to host Prospect at 7 p.m. Friday.
