DIXONVILLE — The Umpqua Valley Christian boys basketball team lost to Butte Falls 69-39 Tuesday night in a nonleague game.

Aaron Buechley had 18 points to lead the Monarchs (2-1). KC Pettibone scored seven.

"It was a close game at half. But we didn't get into a rhythm, we had a lot of turnovers. We played out of character, so hopefully we got this one out of our system," UVC coach Brian Ferguson said. "They had some athletic kids so don't take anything away from what they did, they are a good team. I would have liked to see the game the way we play it."

Butte Falls (4-0), a 2A school, was led by Colby Wood with 20 points. Devon Malcolm and Thomas Johnson had 14 points apiece for the Loggers.

UVC plays Paisley on Friday at the North Lake Tournament.
