SUTHERLIN — The Brookings-Harbor boys soccer team remained unbeaten in Special District 4 play with a 7-0 victory over Sutherlin on Friday afternoon.

Luke Beaman scored four goals for the Bruins (4-1, 3-0 District 4), who led 3-0 at halftime. Freshman Fabian Villa added two goals and Zach Carlson scored one.

Midfielder Collin Bodine, Aldo Alcantar and Garrett Edwards played well for the Bulldogs (0-3-1, 0-1-1), coach Rick Murphy said. Keith Sorenson, Andrew Munsey, Connor Cooley and Oston Connor had good games on the back line.

Sutherlin travels to Coquille on Tuesday for a league contest.

GIRLS SOCCER

St. Mary’s 7, Sutherlin 1

SUTHERLIN — The Bulldogs dropped a nonleague match to St. Mary’s of Medford.

No further details were reported to The News-Review.

Sutherlin (3-2 overall) and starts Special District 4 play at 6 p.m. on Tuesday when it hosts Coquille/Myrtle Point.

VOLLEYBALL

N. Douglas sweeps in Alsea

ALSEA — North Douglas defeated both Alsea and Country Christian in a nonleague doubleheader.

North Douglas (14-2, 5-0 Skyline) defeated Alsea 15-25, 25-15, 25-18, 26-28, 17-15 in the first match.The Warriors also won 23-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-18 over Country Christian.

Arianna Helgren had 18 kills, 22 assists, 14 digs and four aces in the opener and Abby Whipple contributed seven aces, 13 kills, 24 assists and 21 digs against.

Against Country Christian, Rilie-Jo Olds had seven kills, five blocks, eight digs and four aces. Hope Morgan added five kills.

North Douglas plays a nonconference match at Crosshill Christian on Saturday.
