COQUILLE — Douglas remained in the hunt for second place in the Far West League boys soccer race with a 2-1 win over Coquille Thursday.

Senior Austin Sees scored the first goal for the Trojans (5-4-2, 4-2-2 FWL) in the eighth minute off an assist from freshman Evan Salthouse. The Red Devils (2-8, 1-7) evened the score with a goal in the 38th minute, but Quinden Parson scored the deciding goal for Douglas in the 68th minute off an assist from Max Jung.

Trojans coach Axel Jung called the win a "team effort." He singled out junior goalkeeper Jaykob Jones for making some key saves.

Douglas will host Marshfield (5-2-4, 4-1-3) Tuesday at Winston Middle School.
