EUGENE — Roseburg opened Southwest Conference boys soccer play on Saturday with an 11-0 loss to South Eugene.

Gabe Wallace, Parker Dixon and Jake Hoffman all scored hat tricks for the Axe (3-1-1, 1-0 SWC).

"South Eugene is one of the best teams in the state," said RHS coach Jim Giraudo. "They were unbelievable today, the way they moved the ball. It was a difficult transition practicing at Fir Grove Field (Friday), then trying to play South Eugene on the turf. I'm proud of our kids, they played their hardest to the end."

The Indians (1-3-1, 0-1) will host Sheldon in a conference game on Tuesday on the new turf at Finlay Field.
