GOLD HILL — South Umpqua's boys cross country team finished fourth in the 3A Special District 4 meet Thursday at Valley of the Rogue State Park.

The top two teams, Brookings-Harbor and Cascade Christian, and individuals in the top five not a member of one of those teams qualified for the Nov. 3 state meet at Lane Community College in Eugene.

South Umpqua's top runner was Dale Wells. Wells finished eighth in 18:37.15.

Brookings' Kaleb Carmersin won in 17:25.21. Creswell's Brandon Moehlmann, who finished fourth in 18:16.26, was the only individual to qualify.

Josiah Vincent of South Umpqua was 15th in 19:07.26, Owen O'Keefe was 21st (19:43.09), Austin Horton 23rd (19:59.15), and Dakoda Bauer 34th (21:21.21).

Sutherlin was led by Tucker Clement (19:24.94) and Matt Richards was the first Douglas runner to cross the finish line. Richards finished 37th in 21:36.69.
