HARRISBURG — With two starters out, a pair of freshmen stepped up for the Sutherlin girls basketball team against Sweet Home on Thursday in the Les Schwab Eagle Booster Classic at Harrisburg High School.

Sierra Nielsen scored 18 points and Kaley Kuxhausen added 14 as the Bulldogs cruised to a 67-31 rout to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Kuxhausen hit four 3-pointers in the contest.

"It was awesome," said Sutherlin coach Josh Grotting. "Sierra was our de facto point guard for the day and I couldn't be happier with what she did. Kaley is starting to find her role on the team."
