CROW — Kendyle Gormley scored 15 points as the Mohawk girls basketball team defeated Camas Valley, 30-26, on Thursday in the Cougar Classic at Crow High School.

Peyton Robinson added nine points for the Mustangs (3-0).

Sophomore Joy DeRoss just missed a double-double for the Hornets (1-2), finishing with nine points and 10 rebounds. Alissa Vradenburg and Natasha Hibdon each chipped in six points.

"We ran out of gas in the fourth quarter," said C.V. coach Tony Rocco. The Hornets were 2-for-10 from the field and 1-for-8 from the free-throw line over the last eight minutes.

Camas Valley will face Crow at 6 p.m. Friday.
