DRAIN — The North Douglas girls basketball team used a strong third quarter to pull away from Yoncalla for a 33-22 Skylline League North win Friday night.

The win was the Warriors' seventh in a row.

After being tied 10-10 at halftime, the Warriors (11-3, 3-0 North) used a 16-9 third quarter to pull away. North Douglas held the Eagles (5-10, 1-3) to just three points in the fourth quarter.

Natalie Thompson had eight points and eight rebounds for the Warriors, while Rilie-Jo Olds added eight points. Abby Whipple had six points, six steals and eight rebounds. Sofia Alcantar had four points, six steals and seven assists.

Kaleigh Soto had 12 points for Yoncalla to lead all scorers. Ashley Powers had four points and six rebounds.

The Warriors had 15 steals, and were able to score 18 points on 24 Yoncalla turnovers.

Yoncalla plays at New Hope Christian on Tuesday. North Douglas plays at Elkton 6 p.m. Saturday.
