OAKLAND — Oakland blasted its way past Oakridge on Tuesday night, cruising to a 53-16 Central Valley Conference girls basketball win at the Nut House.

Hadley Brooksby and Grace Witten paved the way for the Oakers (13-1, 2-0 CVC). Brooksby scored 20 points and Witten contributed 18. Oakland led 27-4 at halftime.

Oakland coach Don Witten attributed the win to his team's ability to get easy buckets in transition that kept the Warriors from being able to keep up. Sierra Cargil had seven points for Oakridge (3-10, 0-3).

Second-ranked Oakland will look to keep its six-game winning streak alive when it visits No. 4 Monroe (10-2, 3-0) on Friday.
