TRI CITY — Kyla Pires scored 11 of her 14 points in the first quarter, helping the South Umpqua girls basketball team to a 47-16 nonleague win over Bandon on Friday night.

Skylee Gibson had 11 points for the Class 3A Lancers (2-3), who led 23-4 at halftime. Tayah Kelley, making her first appearance of the season, contributed 10 points.

Ashley Strain led the 2A Tigers with seven points.
