GLENDALE — The Monarchs got their first Skyline League girls basketball victory Friday as they defeated Glendale, 42-14.

Layla Pappas led Umpqua Valley Christian (3-9, 1-3) with 12 points.

Tyla Elam had 10 points against Glendale (0-14, 0-4).

The Pirates' leading scorer was Faith Wytcherley with seven points.
