ALBANY — Roseburg won 61-57 on the road against West Albany on Wednesday in a nonleague girls basketball game in the season opener for both teams.

Junior Jalen Robles led the Indians with 17 points and three 3-point field goals. Valerie Viramontes followed with 15 points. Amaya Goins chipped in 14 points and went 4-for-7 in free throws.

Saylor Siegner led West Albany with a game-high 21 points.

"Robles, Viramontes and Goins led us and did a good job at passing the ball around," said coach Rich Robles. "We had a large lead, but they crept up on us. The girls closed it out in the end."
