EUGENE — South Eugene bested Roseburg 62-27 in a nonconference girls basketball game Friday.

"We did pretty well defensively, we just couldn't score," Roseburg coach Dane Tornell said. "The score doesn't reflect the effort the girls put in."

Roseburg (2-11) was led in scoring by Samie Bergmann with seven points.

Abbey Jost had 10 points for South Eugene (6-8), while Aubrey Lewis, Madison McGowan and Jordan Lee each scored nine points in a balanced Axe offense.

Roseburg hosts North Medford on Tuesday in a nonconference game. The Tribe will start Southwest Conference play next Friday at Sheldon.
