BROOKINGS — A third quarter comeback wasn't enough for Sutherlin as it fell 57-41 to Brookings-Harbor in Friday's Far West League girls basketball game.

The Bulldogs (7-9, 1-1 FWL) were down 31-18 at halftime, but outscored the Bruins 15-9 in the third quarter.

Sutherlin came within five points with three minutes left in the game, but then shots started falling again for the Bruins (7-6, 2-0) and the momentum changed.

Jadyn Vermillion scored 14 points for Sutherlin. Brookings was led in scoring by Sidney Alexander with 16, including four 3-pointers.

Sutherlin will host South Umpqua on Tuesday.
