The Roseburg High girls soccer team notched its third consecutive shutout Tuesday, beating Ashland 1-0 in a nonconference game at Fir Grove Field.
The Indians improved to 3-0-1 on the season under first-year head coach Kristin Parks.
Freshman Madasyn Van Acker scored the lone goal of the contest off an assist from Callie Price in the 13th minute. Price, a senior, set up the score on a breakaway.
Roseburg has scored 17 goals in four games this season, 16 more than they had all of last year.
The Tribe had eight shots on goal against the Grizzlies (1-3), who had three. Parks said Roseburg had three attempts hit the crossbar.
Indians senior goalkeeper Emily Wheeler notched the shutout.
"It was an exciting game," the coach said. "I give the whole team credit, they all had to fight every minute."
Roseburg will open Southwest Conference play on Saturday, meeting South Eugene at 1 p.m. at Fir Grove Field.
"The girls are excited. They've got the fever," Parks said. "We're sitting in a good place, but conference is going to be tough."
