TRI CITY — Madisen Castro recorded a hat trick as South Umpqua topped Douglas 4-2 in a Far West League girls soccer game on Thursday.

Tiona Eggert scored the first goal for the Lancers (1-5, 1-2 Far West) in the 34th minute. Castro scored in the 39th, 44th and 79th minutes.

Castro's first goal was assisted by Eggert and her other two goals were assisted by Jenna Castro.

"We had good play from Gwen Shurtz and Rachel Araiza did a very good job at stopping balls and pushing them through to our offense," S.U. coach Kami Wright said.

Kaylie Hall scored the first goal of the game in the 29th minute for the Trojans (0-7, 0-3 FWL). Chyanne VanAllen scored again in the 63rd minute.

South Umpqua hosts Marshfield next Tuesday, while Douglas travels to Coquille.
