Roseburg sophomore Bryce Thomason was tied for 25th after the first day of the OSAA Class 6A state boys golf tournament at Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell.

Thomason carded an 81 Monday, to tie with seven other players; Abel Rodriguez of Tigard, Nick Lasko of Clackamas, Dylan Hadsall of West Salem, Jacob Brumfield of Lake Oswego, Nathan Mallory of Tigard, David Altmark of Mountainside and Max Matterazzo of Central Catholic.

Lincoln’s Nate Stember and Jesuit’s Andrew Reinhardt led the tournament after the first day, shooting a 1-under-par 71. Jesuit sophomore Johnny Ward carded a 72 for third place.

Hunter Endicott shot an 84, which tied him for 42nd place after one day. Josh Alexander carded an 87, Dylan Guido 97 and Koby Gilbert shot 112.

Roseburg is in 12th place with 349 strokes. Jesuit is leads the field with a 292, followed by Mountainside of Beaverton (322). Lake Oswego and Clackamas are tied at 328.

The Indians will teed off this afternoon, starting at 1:36 p.m. from hole 10. Gilbert started and the boys teed off in nine-minute increments with Thomason teeing off last at 2:12 p.m.
