DRAIN — Tyler Warden hit a two-run home run and Monroe scored four unearned runs in the sixth inning to top Oakland 4-3 in a Special District 3 softball playoff game on Thursday.

Oakland (14-10) led 1-0 entering the sixth, but an error led to eighth-ranked Monroe advancing to the district championship game against North Douglas.

Kylee Bean struck out seven and allowed just five hits in the loss.

Monroe's Warden was the winning pitcher after scattering eight hits and five walks while striking out four.

Seleena Duck batted 2-for-4 with an RBI and Emily Patt was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Oakers, who may still receive a Class 2A/1A at-large playoff berth based upon their No. 12 ranking.

The rankings will freeze Saturday night.
