Roseburg High’s boys swim team finished fifth at Saturday’s Skip Rumbaugh Invitational in Corvallis, while the girls finished 12th in the 15-team meet.

“I am extremely proud of our RHS team,” Roseburg coach Christy Todd said. “Rumbaugh is a great meet to obtain personal records and see where we are compared to top teams in the state.”

Brighid Rickman finished third in the girls 50 freestyle in 25.85. She finished sixth in the 100 free in 57.40.

Hunter Agsten made it to the A-finals in the 200 and 500 free. “Hunter’s 500 and 200 were awesome,” coach Todd said.

Agsten finished fifth in the 500 free in 5:14.52 and sixth in the 200 free in 1:54.47. Knox swam the 200 free in 2:03.52 for an eighth place finish.

“I am very excited to see our 200 medley and free relays for the boys place in the top 3,” coach Todd said. “That bodes well for state. I was happy to see the improvement in our girls 200 free relay and that they A-finaled shows possibilities for a state relay team.”

Lambert, Colvin, Agsten and Todd finished third in the 200 medley relay in 1:46.75. This was the first time the team competed in the 200 medley relay.

The boys’ 200 free relay team of Todd, Lambert, Colvin and Agsten were second in 1:33.40.

The girls’ 200 free relay team of Bethany Foster, Ali Paschal, Libbey Ketchum and Rickman were eighth in 1:51.43.

Other Roseburg swimmers to make the A-finals were Dominic Colvin (200 IM, 100 back), Trevor Knox (200 free, 50 free), Logan Todd (50 free, 100 free), and Rainey Lambert (100 back).

Colvin was fifth in the 200 IM in 2:10.42. Logan Todd was sixth in the 50 free (23.85) and Knox was eighth in 24.23.

In the boys 100 backstroke Colvin swam a sub-1 minute 100 back (59.55) for a sixth place finish, Lambert was seventh in 1:01.77.

Roseburg’s Bethany Foster (200 free, 100 breast), Ketchum (200 free, 500 free), Ben Steffensen (500 free) and Kai Castle (100 back) made it to the B-finals. Foster finished 10th in the 200 free (2:10.12), followed by Ketchum in 11th place (2:10.22).

Roseburg’s next meet will be the Jan. 24 dual with Sheldon at the YMCA of Douglas County.
