GRANTS PASS — Roseburg's swim team came home with some hardware after successful performance at the Southern Oregon Invite at the Grants Pass YMCA.
The RHS boys won the invitational and the girls finished third in the 16-team meet.
"I was very happy with our swims, especially with meets back-to-back," RHS swim coach Christy Todd said. "It was great practice for districts, which is also two days."
Roseburg's 200 free relay team won in 1:33.30. The automatic qualifying time for the 6A state meet is 1:32.09, which coach Todd said is within grasp.
Roseburg's boys 400 yard free relay team finished second in 3:32.07, behind Ashland (3:31.10).
"The boys 400 free was an amazing race and got touched out," Todd said.
Hunter Agsten finished second in the 200 free (1:57.33) and 100 fly (57.57). RHS freshman Dominic Colvin finished the 200 IM in 2:10.41 for a runner-up finish. Colvin was also second in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.52, where Roseburg junior Rainey Lambert finished third in 1:00.76.
In the girls' meet, Brighid Rickman won the 50 free (25.88) and was second in the 100 free (57.74).
The girls' 200 free relay team won in 1:51.32. Bethany Foster was third in the 200 free (2:11.31).
Roseburg's 400 free relay team finished third in 4:03.96, behind Grants Pass (3:50.35) and Sheldon (4:02.01).
