MERRILL — Four local schools competed in the 2A Mountain View Conference track and field championships on Saturday at Lost River high school.

Oakland, Riddle, Yoncalla and Canyonville Christian all competed for a MVC title along with an opportunity to go compete at the 2A state championships next week. The top two finishers in each event qualified for state.

Lily Allen of CCA qualified in three events for the Pilots. She took second in the 100 (13.05), first in the 200 (26.38) and second in the 400 (1:01.83).

Wyatt Smith of Oakland won the 800 (2:07.99) and took second in the 1,500 (4:29.94).

Yoncalla took second in the 4x100 relay with Kaleigh Soto, Samantha Baker, Rilie Jo Olds and Justice Cox in 54.16.

Shaunasi Hardy of Yoncalla took second in javelin with a 95-9 1/2 throw.

Hadley Brooksby of Oakland took second in the 800 (2:40.65), first in the high jump (5-0) and first in the triple jump (32-3 1/2).

Colton Langdon won the 110 hurdles (16.66) and 300 hurdles (43.04). Rachel Arts of Oakland won the pole vault (9-0) and Johanna Simonson took second (7-6). Cassidy Jones was second in the discus (95-0).

Laaron Lopez of Yoncalla won the boys' high jump with a 5-10 leap.

Kevin Meier took second in the high jump (5-8) for the Oakers. Meier won the pole vault (11-0) and triple jump (40-3/4).
