DAYS CREEK — The Elkton Elks gave the Days Creek Wolves a wakeup call by winning the first set of their Skyline League North volleyball match on Tuesday night.
But the Wolves rebounded by winning the next three sets and remained unbeaten in league play. Set scores were 17-25, 25-10, 25-10, 25-15.
"Anytime you beat Elkton I always consider it a big win," said D.C. coach Ron Dunn. "They're a school I look forward to playing and it's been a good rivalry.
"We cut back on our errors. We had a lot of serving and hitting errors in the first set and Elkton played great. But we got it going and were aggressive hitting the ball."
Jolene Crume had 11 kills and five digs for Days Creek (10-3, 6-0 North). Moriah Michaels contributed nine kills and 10 digs, Kyla Crume chipped in 15 assists and 10 aces, and Megan Kruzic had 15 assists.
Kyla Crume scored all of her aces in the last two sets.
"She found her serve," said Dunn.
Grace Whitley finished with 11 assists and three aces for Elkton (7-2, 4-2). Ashley Robertson added nine kills and six digs.
The Wolves will play at Yoncalla Thursday, while the Elks host North Douglas.
