South Umpqua senior Sydnie Johnson, who helped the Lancers to a Far West League co-championship and third place at the 3A tournament, was selected the FWL’s setter of the year.

Far West League volleyball co-champion South Umpqua placed four players on the all-league first team in voting by the coaches.

Selected to the first team were S.U. seniors Sydnie Johnson and Kalie Mann, along with juniors Shalyn Gray and Jenna Whitmore. Johnson was selected as the setter of the year, and Gray received defensive player of the year.

Douglas sophomore Mila Snuka-Polamalu and Sutherlin senior Sydnee Allen were first-team picks.

Senior Caroline McMahon of Cascade Christian was selected the league’s MVP, and Rob Kleker of C.C. was coach of the year.
